Superba Salmon Begonia

Superba Salmon Begonia

(10-12” tall x 12” wide) ‘Superba Salmon’ Begonia is yet another fantastic double begonia in the Superba series to deliver outstanding color in a compact cultivar. Its fully double orange flowers bloom so heavily and are so large that the lovely green serrated foliage has to take a back seat in the display! ‘Superba Salmon’ Begonia, like others in this series, is very well-suited to containers of all kinds and can be a secret weapon in the quest to create gorgeous containers on shady decks. If growing in garden beds, choose a sheltered, well-drained spot in shade or part shade and use ‘Superba Salmon’ Begonia near the front, giving it the space it needs to show off its tight, rounded habit. ‘Superba Salmon’ begonia tubers can be started indoors late in the winter to encourage earlier flowering, or simply wait until all danger of frost has passed to plant the knobby tubers directly in beds. Gardeners who wish to overwinter this tuberous begonia can bring containers inside in autumn to go dormant in a dark, cool space.
